Health & Safety
For review: All information and policies on this page are subject to Seven County Saunas’ final approval before bookings open.
Sauna and cold-water immersion affect circulation, heart rate, blood pressure and breathing. Participation is voluntary and customers must listen to their body, follow our guidance and leave the heat or cold immediately if they feel unwell.
Before attending
- Arrive hydrated and bring drinking water, swimwear, suitable non-slip footwear and two towels.
- Do not attend while ill, feverish, intoxicated or otherwise unfit to participate.
- Tell us immediately if you feel unwell or are unsure about taking part.
Health declaration
Before booking, customers will confirm that they are 18 or over, understand the effects of heat and cold, and have not withheld relevant health information. Anyone who is pregnant or has a heart or circulatory condition, uncontrolled blood pressure, a history of fainting or seizures, impaired temperature sensation, a recent operation or injury, or another condition that may be affected should seek individual medical advice before participating.
Using the sauna
- Begin gently and take shorter heat periods, particularly on a first visit.
- Use a towel on the bench and avoid touching hot equipment.
- Leave immediately if you feel dizzy, nauseous, confused, faint or unusually short of breath.
Using the ice baths
- Enter slowly under supervision; cold water can trigger gasping and rapid breathing.
- Keep your head and airway above water and never jump, dive or hold your breath.
- Exit immediately if breathing does not settle or you feel pain, numbness, confusion, panic, dizziness or weakness.
